During June 2016 WD Hearn service engineers Mike Clayton, Chris Alcock and Johan Neveling attended Mitsubishi EDM and WEDM training in Germany. The intensive and highly technical training has given our engineers indepth knowledge of these supreme quality EDM and WEDM machines.

In 2015 WD Hearn visited Kitamura precision machinery in Japan. The visit was a huge success and WD Hearn agreed to become the companies sole representation in South Africa.

On the 14th of March WD Hearn hosted the official launch of their brand new technology center in Kempton Park, Johannesburg. The launch featured demonstrations on various products including the Sisma SWA150 Laser Welder, Nikon MCAx3.0+ & MMDx100, Siemens 828D and Renishaw Probing.

On the 15th on July 2013 WD Hearn launched a training room at their head office in Cape Town. The company will be offering training courses in Siemens CNC software to machine operators.

This year’s exhibition was held on the 13th and 14th of February and boasted the largest and most diverse product range to date, from the revolutionary Equator gauging system by Renishaw to the High-end CNC turning and milling of CC Machinery’s CY2-52MB.

As a direct result of massive capital expansion projects by Transnet, W.D Hearn will be supplying two Yu-Shine vertical turning machines to Transnet for the production of wheels to the salt river and Saldanha depots.
